Now that I’ve finished the picture post about the Dresden stay, I should also write about a chocolate bar that I bought in Dresden. This Slitti bar caught my eye, as higher cocoa content milk chocolate bars belong clearly to my favourites. I like the higher cocoa content, and I have a sweet tooth, so this fits well.
This line of Slitti chocolates is called LatteNero, what means dark milk. The Slitti company are two brothers, one specialized in coffee and the other specialzed in chocolate located in Tuscany, Italy.
The Latte Nero bars can be bought with cocoa contents from 45% to 70%. The list of ingredients of this bar: cocoa mass, sugar, whole milk poweder, cocoa butter, natural vanilla. No Soy lecithin.
The chocolate is mold into quite chunky pieces. Something I’m not too fan of, as I evolved quite far away from being able to bite efficiently. But, it might have a reason the pieces are so chunky. It might be that it tastes better like that.
Tastewise, this bar is similar to a no milk higher percentage cocoa bar. But, there is something else, brought from the milk. And somehow, this reminds me of chocolate ice cream. Really good chocolate ice cream. The lingering taste of chocolate, when the chocolate has almost melted away, is just like ice cream.

You always make my mouth water! What a lovely package this bar comes in, I like the rather unusual inside packaging, sort of papery instead of foil.
Yes, the packaging was some foiled paper, instead of the normal plain aluminium foil.
I loved the warm colour of the chocolate bar.
Wonderful chocolate colours in your compositions. Nonetheless, I feel that I need some chocolate, now!
And, did you get your chocolate?
Yum, this sounds wonderful. I agree that those squares are quite thick, but the molding is very nice!
I prefer smoother chocolates. Those that actually melt easily in the mouth. This one here seems chunky from the pic.
It is totally chunky, but it also had a good melt (that just required a little more patience, as the chunk took a while to melt)
Hello friend, and thanks for your review. I have linked it on my chocolate blog because i have just tried the LatteNero 70% and i totally love it. And when i write a review i like to put some links of further reviews. For those afraid of this chocolate being chunk, don’t worry, it’s just at the beginning…after some instant it become extremely creamy!!! i have even written in my review that some brands like Lindt that use bad ingredients to create the cream effect should learn to do it from Slitti instead of asserting of being the best Maitre chocolatier of the world…. my blog is this one cioccolatando.wordpress.com It’s just in italian so you will not understand it…,anyway i hope it’s ok to link you at the bottom of the review…cheers!!!
Thank you for the link!
