Winter arrived here! While I was away on a trip, I came home to snow. And today, it kept snowing. While I spent yesterday mostly resting and watching the ski races (those days in the Netherlands were long), I felt better today and went on a run along the river Limmat.
And afterwards, it was time for some chocolate. Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to buy some Dutch chocolate (I visited a supermarket once, but I forgot to buy chocolate there. I only bought Stroopwafels). So, I talk today about chocolate from Winterthur.
These truffles from Vollenweider were a gift. I haven’t bought myself yet chocolates from Vollenweider, I only had their ice cream before. These Othello truffles are squared in form, and are sold in packs of 10. Perfect for after dinner, or just whenever you like (as in after a run). Additionally, there is a small piece of colourful balls on chocolate base in the packet as well.
The list of ingredients: full cream, cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, glucose syrup, butter, soy lecithin, sorbit, vanilla, sorbic acid.
Texture wise, these are very nice. Creamy but firm at the same time. Stable enough that I could cut them with kife. Tastewise, these are nice. Very agreeable. Sweet. Creamy. For me, they could have a little more cocoa flavour, maybe a little more bitterness. But there is really not much to complain here… they are moreish, I could eat the whole package in an afternoon, and that would be too bad about them.
I should really visit a Vollenweider shop soon (there’s also one in Zürich, I would not even have to go to Winterthur!). The cupcakes they show on their homepage look divine as well.

Lovely photos, and very edible looking chocolates, I bet these tasted wonderful after burning off all those calories.
Yes, they did!
Delicious!
